Service Description

NEW Trauma, the body & yoga - 6 week course DATES: 1st June - 6th July Mondays | 11am-12:30pm Trauma, the Body and Yoga – 6 Week Course with Kali Buttrick - Therapist, Trauma-Informed Trainer & Yoga Teacher This six-week course offers a calm and supportive space to explore how yoga can help regulate the nervous system and support wellbeing. Each session begins with a short piece of accessible psycho-education (10–15 minutes), followed by a gentle trauma-sensitive yoga practice and a guided relaxation. The practices are slow, invitational, and choice-based, meaning you are always encouraged to move in ways that feel right for your body. The emphasis is on creating a sense of safety, awareness, and self-regulation rather than pushing or achieving poses. During the course we will explore: ● Understanding the nervous system and the stress response ● Simple practices to support grounding and regulation ● Gentle movement and breath awareness ● Connecting the mind and body through awareness and movement ● Developing body awareness at your own pace ● Rest and relaxation practices for calming the system ● Practical tools you can use in everyday life All practices are invitational and you are always welcome to choose what feels right for you, including resting at any time. There is no expectation to share personal experiences. Suitable for beginners. No previous yoga experience is needed. Kali Buttrick is a counsellor and yoga teacher who has trained in trauma-informed approaches and trauma-sensitive yoga. She is passionate about helping people develop a safer, more compassionate relationship with their bodies through gentle, choice-based yoga practices. Her work is informed by both professional training and personal experience of the benefits yoga can bring after trauma, and she aims to create supportive spaces where participants can explore movement, breath, and rest at their own pace.
