Tandi has always been very sporty and played rugby for around 13 years but unfortunately after a few bouts of concussion and a ruptured ACL decided to hang up her boots.
She lost her love for training for a little while and felt like she was just going through the motions until she started practicing yoga. Initially it was something to clear her mind before going to bed focussing more on breathing techniques and relaxation and then she began practicing postures.
Tandis love for yoga really grew during the first lock down as it helped her keep a routine and gave her something to focus on. Tandi decided that she also wanted to teach other people and for them to embrace yoga the way she had… hence the name @embraceyogatws. Tandi completed her 200hr teacher training and has been teaching for a year and a half at Pantheon and this is where her BJJ journey began. Pantheon has the most incredible community and one of the girls suggested that she give BJJ a try, the rest is history.
Tandi feels that yoga has benefited her BJJ, practicing breath control in uncomfortable postures challenges her body and mind, and teaches her to remain calm.
