Move More with Ease ✨Qigong & Somatics 6 week course Book here for both short courses - deduced rate £100. Sept 18th - 23rd Oct 10-11am Qigong consists of slow, gentle flowing movements that are graceful, easy & enjoyable to do. Often described as “meditation in movement”. It is an ancient Chinese health exercise that enhances well-being in many different ways, including improving balance / co-ordination, increasing energy & strength, and relaxing & calming the mind & body. Course content: Qigong exercises that combine movement and breath. Qigong standing postures (which can be adapted for sitting). Five Daoist Exercises, Bagua dragon exercises, “Shen Jin Ba Gu” – joint opening and muscle lengthening exercise. Five Animals Qigong. The Five Animals are: Tiger, Deer, Bear, Monkey and Crane. By the end of the course you will know a short routine to practise daily. This course is for everyone, experienced & complete beginners. The exercises are done standing, but all of them can be adapted for seated. Kath Revell /Ninja Granny, has been learning, teaching for over 30 years, is a member of the Tai chi Union of GB. Please visit www.ninjagranny.org Somatics 11:15am -12:15pm Somatics is natural movement, which is movement that is co-ordinated through the centre of the body. The aim is to release tension, which helps relieve and prevent pain. Tension builds up over time and becomes habitual. Then it can no longer be felt. If it can’t be felt it can’t be released. Somatics helps you to find the tension. You contract into it, just enough to feel it, and once you feel it you can release it. You release slowly, which gives your nervous system time to reset the tension in the muscles. It’s the experience of slowly contracting and releasing that is “somatic” - it’s an inner experience, an experience of letting go. Over time you get more and more in tune with your body and so you keep improving. This course is for everyone & especially for people who have pain issues. The exercises are done lying on the floor. By the end of the course you will have a daily routine to practise. Course content: 1. Exploring pandiculation: Exercises include shoulder releases, “arch and flatten”. 2. Moving from your centre: Exercises include “the flower” 3. The red and green light reflexes. Exercises include “the backlift,” “arch and curl” 4. The trauma reflex. Exercises include “the sidebend”, “the washrag” 5. Revising all the above exercises and adding .
